Going for walks, riding bikes, & playing outdoors with others is the stuff of childhood.
It was how and where I spent many of my favorite memories growing up & how I stayed fit.
As a child, teen and young adult, I discovered a love of dance, music and all things related.
Ballet, Ballroom, Swing & Tap were a place for connection of body mind & spirit as well as being a
framework for discovering a new level of confidence & joy. A lifetime love of movement was born.
Once married I cooked to please, managing to gain more weight than my husband lost that first year.
He was an avid runner & cyclist who had spent all his growing years playing every sport offered.
His metabolism worked overtime & mine did not. I spent the next few years becoming more active
with aerobic dance fitness classes, weight lifting, walking, cycling & running, losing the excess weight.
This was the beginning of my life in fitness. I have walked at sunrise in the desert, hiked the mountains
in moonlight, and danced beneath the stars. I have spent countless hours attending Zumba classes,
viewing movies on my Nordic track, reading entire book series on a bike & doing Stott Pilates DVDs.
We spent time as a couple cycling, combing the beach, and hiking area parks with our four children.
They have each found fitness activities and nutritional practices that help them maintain wellness.
Having practiced Yoga & Pilates for years, I became certified to teach only to deepen my own practice.
I enjoy a quirky flow with funky transitions & music that moves the soul. I also enjoy quieter reflection
that takes place in a meditative class with slow poses that release tension. I have practiced Ashtanga,
Baptiste Power Vinyasa, Hatha, Vin & Yin, Restorative, as well as several fusion forms of Yoga.
I found an ease in my body & mind through intentional practice that brought balance to my life.
I completed my 200-hour training at Ignite Yoga in Centerville. I will continue to attend workshops,
practice & study to expand my knowledge in the various expressions of both Yoga & Pilates.
I completed training to instruct LaBlast Ballroom Dance Fitness to bring full circle my fitness journey.
I had not anticipated though I am very pleased to have an opportunity to grow & share teaching in
the local area with longtime friends as well as new acquaintances. I teach in several area locations.
Join me for a Pilates, Yoga or LaBlast class either for the first time, or show up to challenge yourself,
dig deep, or rest & restore. Discover the joy of intentional movement for yourself. Namaste
